JER AND JEWEL’S
HIGHWAY HARMONY NEWS!!!!!!
To our faithful friends and partners:
IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!
What’s
Been Going On?
On the road again: We have felt like jet setters after flying to Ohio for a month (most of June) of visiting family, singing and recruiting for TMI, flying home, singing most weekends till the last week in August when we flew to Maine and then rented a car & drove to New Brunswick, Canada. We stayed a week, drove back to Maine, flew home and got ready for the Florida Gospel Music Association Convention on Labor Day weekend (Sept 3rd - 5th). Unfortunately I contracted a bronchial infection while in Canada (go figure-first time home in over 24 years) and was not able to sing at this year's FGMA so Jer did a few solos (he did a great job by the way); no more job security for me ? (just kidding-GOD is my job security). But I will say, it made me realize that I took our being able to sing for granted, a gift that I now thank GOD for every day!! Then it was off to GA to TMI headquarters for their Drivers' Appreciation Day & getting some serious work done to our bus, once again finding out that GOD has miraculously kept us from having a serious accident. With the bus fixed we headed to SC where we sang at Arial Baptist for their annual "old fashioned day," which includes live band(s) and dinner on the grounds consisting of pulled pork (which they spend all day cooking the day before) with all the fixin's -YUM! We did take a short side trip up to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, to visit where we got married and enjoy the mountains – oh yes, and experience some nice, cool, refreshing air for a change - ahhhh! We love being busy for the LORD and had prayed for HIM to expand our borders and give us more opportunity to minister. Well, as usual, our GOD always gives in abundance. On our way home we were given the opportunity to sing at the Mercer Truck Corporation's Driver Appreciations they hold at TA truck stops from South Carolina to south Florida during the months of Oct & November. We ended up singing our way home, sometimes singing two days in a row from 10am to 4pm each day. We would sing for Mercer on the weekdays and hold a Church concert on the weekend. It was great being so busy singing; we loved it! They want us to be with them again next year where we will start in South Carolina with them and again sing our way back home to Florida. We will give you the wheres and whens as soon as we get them. Please keep this effort with Mercer in prayer as we get to minister in song and testimony to many drivers. At our recent concert at First Baptist Weeki Wachie in Spring Hill, FL, the Holy Spirit moved and a sweet lady sitting in the second row got wonderfully saved as we sang "Thanks to Calvary"! GOD is forever surprising us and forever GOOD!
What’s
coming up?
More singing!
We have a short break in December and then picking up again in January - be sure to check our schedule on the web site.
We are getting our big blue bus ready to sell. We will miss our first bus - the answer to our prayer. We prayed and asked the LORD for a bus and then in faith spent the next 2 1/2 years thanking HIM daily for giving us a bus (Mark 11:24). As usual HE answered our prayer over and above what we could think or ask by giving us "Big Blue," our Mack Motor Coach. As many of you know, we have been believing for a new bus (new to us) that would have a bigger fridge, more storage, and a living room, etc. We are giving a praise report that we will be moving into our new bus by the end of March when we will be heading out on the road till the middle of November. GOD knew when we would need the new bus as we will be spending most of the year in it (GOD's timing is always perfect), and yes, it has a normal size fridge and a living room with a couch. Now Jer will have somewhere to sleep when he has been bad ? "just kidding"! We will post pictures as soon as we get it.

Till
Next Time!
Meeting needs!!We have had many miracles during the last 9 years of ministering with TMI, the last 5 being in full time ministry. We feel we need to be sharing some of these with our partners and friends. Just yesterday the LORD showed us again how HE knows our needs and moves in miraculous ways to take care of us. As you know, we are supported in part by love offerings. At this time, without them we would not be able to stay in full time ministry. The love offering from one of our recent engagements was not what it had been in the past and it left us short of what we needed for food and supplies before Jer's SS check comes in the end of the month (which was another blessing that came "just in time" to keep us on the road for JESUS). We have been around this mountain enough times that we did not get concerned and decided to trust the LORD for HIS provision. We did not tell anyone at TMI headquarters. I (Jewel) was in the bus (it is parked outside the garage where it is being fixed) when Jer called and said that our friend & neighbor from home was in the area and wanted to buy us dinner. Our friend was taking his mother's remains home to Michigan. He thought we were in Savannah and only called Jer because he suddenly thought he should tell us that his girlfriend would be taking care of feeding our "outdoor kitty" (that's what we call her --- we started feeding her several years ago and she has since adopted us), as that is usually his job when we are away. When he found out he was passing so close to where we were, he decided to come by and buy us dinner. We had a great time of fellowship, and just as we were leaving he asked us if we needed any money. We told him that GOD would take care of us (remember the story of the man who was on the roof during a flood praying for GOD to save him---GOD sent him a truck, boat & helicopter but he refused the help saying the LORD would save him---Yea, same idea), then he started to tear up saying that he had three envelopes with money in them and he had been trying to give some money away and no one would take it. I had never seen him like that before so I said we could use a hundred dollars to get us through till the end of the month. He started crying even more and pulled two $50 bills from an envelope and said he had been trying to give them away all day. He had been feeling very low, so we encouraged him in the LORD and assured him he was loved by GOD and his friends. The LORD moved (as usual—too much to be a coincidence) to meet our financial need and his spiritual need, Praise HIS Name!! This is one of the lesser dramatic interventions of the LORD as HE has taken care of us when we are on the road. We will be sharing more of HIS supernatural interventions in the coming months.
As Always, You’re Servants in CHRIST
